Missing Files in your USB Flash Drives Empty
PostSubject: Missing Files in your USB Flash Drives   Missing Files in your USB Flash Drives EmptyThu Aug 06, 2009 11:58 am

Have you
encountered your files in your USBs are not visible but when you check
the properties of your USB drive, there are used space? Well, there are
two reasons why they are not visible.

first reason : the files and folders are hidden.

second reason : your USB got infected by the virus.

For the first one, here's how to show your hidden files:

1. Open My Computer or any folder [or your USB drive]

2. Click Tools and Select Folder Options

3. Click View tab

4. Look for the "Hidden files and folders"

under the Hidden files and folders there are two options, Do not show hidden files and folders and Show hidden files and folders

5. Choose Show hidden files and folders and OK.

The files will now show. As you can see, the files are blurred than a normal files or folders. See image below:

Here's how to remove from being hidden of your files:

1. Right Click the file that is hidden [blurred icon]

2. Click Properties

* You will see this, See image below:

Uncheck the hidden and Click OK.

That's it for the hidden files.

But if the files haven't showed yet, there is another way to show your files, similar from what we did with the hidden files.

Here's How:

1. Open My Computer or any folder [or your USB drive]

2. Click Tools and Select Folder Options

3. Click View tab

4. Look for the "Hide Protect Operating System Files (Recommended)" See image below:

5. Uncheck the box and Click OK

You should see your files now!

The reason why it was hidden, because the role of the virus that
infect your USB is to change those files into an Operating System
Files. Why? So it can't be seen easily [knowing that no one would think
of their files will be an operating system files, who would've thought
that?]

The Operating System Files are hidden in default, to avoid messing
up your system. So the virus creator did this way. [maybe he did it for
fun only]

There you go!

*There are some questions on how to bring their files to normal
way. This could be troublesome to others. Reformatting your USB Drives,
I'll create a tutorial for that! soon!

Again, advertising my site. lol!
